BaseConnect Policy on Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM)

1. Purpose & Commitment

BaseConnect is dedicated to ensuring the safety of children online and preventing the spread of CSAM on our platform. We invest in technology, and proactive measures to detect, remove, and report CSAM.

2. Definition of CSAM

CSAM refers to any visual depiction—photos, videos, or computer-generated imagery—of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct. This includes content that violates global laws and attempts to exploit children.

3. Detection

  • Point of Contact for CSAM – BaseConnect has appointed a Point of Contact for CSAM. This person will be the contact person towards the authorities, will be aware and involved in reviewing the CSAM reports and the actions taken, will train and guide the rest of the team regarding CSAM and make recommendations to management. It is possible to reach the POC for CSAM by sending a request to support at baseconnect.com or in our app.
  • User Reporting: Users can report suspected CSAM by emailing to support at baseconnect.com or in-app by messaging Support directly within our app. The report will be reviewed by the BaseConnect team and remediation actions will be taken in a short period of time. Users can also flag content by selecting the flag content within our app and this will automatically notify Support.
  • Automated Detection: BaseConnect is running search scripts over the entire platform to discover texts which might raise concern of CSAM.
  • BaseConnect Team: BaseConnect team members are required to keep an open eye regarding CSAM, as they use, maintain and develop the platform, and report any concerns.

4. Prevention

The main prevention mechanism which BaseConnect offers is based on the fact it is a secure social media platform. All the users in the platform are verified and typically members of large organizations (such as the DOD). Usually, posting of CSAM occurs under the cover of anonymity, which the regular social media platforms provide. Since all our users are fully identified, chances of CSAM materials to be posted in BaseConnect are minimal. Despite that, BaseConnect is taking the goal of ensuring child safety and compliance with safety standards very seriously.

4. Removal & Reporting

  • Immediate Action: Any detected CSAM is swiftly removed from BaseConnect platform.
  • Account Consequences: Offenders may face warnings, restrictions, or permanent account suspension.
  • Legal Reporting: BaseConnect management, guided by the CSAM Point of Contact recommendation, will report CSAM to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) and cooperate with law enforcement.

6. User Education & Awareness

BaseConnect provides educational resources to help users recognize and report CSAM, fostering a safer online environment.
